Manufacturing Day 2022 with Hansen & Company Woodworks
At Hansen & Company Woodworks, we strongly believe products can truly transform a space into an immersive experience when they are created by the best people. We are a complete custom build-to-order large-volume manufacturer of cabinets and one-of-a-kind architectural millworks for commercial construction. In honor of MFG Day 2022, presented by the National Association of Manufacturers and Manufacturing Month, all month during October, presented by the Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association, we are excited to invite local students to enjoy a tour of Hansen & Company Woodworks below. Learn how advanced technology, blended with skills of the craft, helps us create real products that make a visual and functional impact in people’s lives.
These kits will be offerred with three levels of complexity to be chosen by the administrator of the school based on their technology and skill capabilities.
Kit 1
Level of requirements: Minimum
Paint & Customize
Time Needed: 2 Days

What you’ll need:
- Paint
- Sanding materials
Kit 2
Level of requirements: Intermediate
Route & Sand
Time Needed: 3 Days

Kit 3
Level of requirements: Maximum
Run CNC
Time Needed: 1 Week

- CNC machine
- CNC program software
- Tooling (specific bits)
Kit 1
What you’ll get:
Two separate MDF pieces fully cut and sanded. Ready for the student to:
- Scan a QR code to learn what the kit is and how to make it
- Sand, paint and customize with lights or other decorating
- Assemble and use
*Optional: HCo Team Member can join a class when these are happening to help with any questions and share insight from engineering and manufacturing.

What you’ll need:
- Paint
- Sanding materials
Kit 2
What you’ll get:
One single piece of MDF onion-skinned with outline of kit. Ready for the students to:
- Scan a QR code to learn what the kit is and how to make it
- Router cut onion-skinned piece
- Sand, paint and customize with lights or other decorating
- Assemble and use
*Strongly recommended: 2-3 HCo Team Members to join the class
Level of requirements: Intermediate
Route & Sand
Time Needed: 3 Days
Phone & Wifi needed to scan QR code to learn what it is and how to finish it
What you’ll need:
- Paint
- Sanding materials
- Router table
Kit 3
What you’ll get:
One single square piece of MDF with no onion-skin or outline. Ready for the student to:
- Scan a QR code to learn what the kit is and how to make it
- Download a DFX file to use for their school’s CNC machine
- Run CNC program and cut the piece to design
- Route and sand
- Paint and customize with lights or other decorating
- Assemble and use
Includes: 2-3 HCo Team Members to join the class
Level of requirements: Advanced
Run CNC
Time Needed: 1 Week
